The state house of assembly approved and passed into law the sum of over fourty one billion pairs as 2021 appropriation budget for the 11 local government council of the state.
Presenting the budget report before the house, chairman house committee on appropriation Aliyu baba Manu said the committee observed that some of the local government councils chairmen made a significant improvement in their internally generated revenue (IGR)within the short period of time in office.
The speaker of the state house Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo delivered a clause by clause considerations contained in the budget for the 11 local government of the state for the year 2021
The budget comes with the addition of 40 million naira for Yamaltu deba local government which increased the size from four billion two hundred and six million to four billion two hundred and fourty six naira with some amount.
In his speech during the budget presentation the chairman of the committee Aliyu Baba Manu said the increment of the budget size for deba is to enable the council to benefit from P-wash program and enlistment programs toward the hygienic society in the council.

The Gombe State Deputy Governor, Manassah Daniel Jatau, Ph.D, has appreciated the Executive Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the release of total dues of Gombe United Players.
The Governor who was expressing delight over the gesture of the Governor to the Gombe United Club as they partake in the quarter finals at Jos, Plateau State, said the release of the funds would go a long way in boosting the morale of the players to enable them succeed.
The Deputy Governor noted the significance of the extension of state of emergency on education to sports development, which is an arm of education, expressing optimism that it will improve on developing their potentials towards socioeconomic development, and bringing glory to the state.
He called on the players to reciprocate the gesture by being dedicated, discipline, and demonstrate spirit of sportsmanship and play well with the hope of restoring their lost glory back to the premier league, the position they were known for.
The Deputy Governor said, winning the matches by the Gombe United Football Club will not only encourage younger ones on building their own potentials ,but shall move Gombe State to greater heights, making the Gombawas a pride of their achievements.
Mr. Jatau pointed out that not too long ago, the Governor won the award of Ease-of-Doing-Business, charging the officials and players of Gombe United in the spirit of Gombawas to follow suit and bring laurels to the state, so that we shall celebrate our successes.
The Deputy Governor enjoined other members of the EXCO and sports lovers to appreciate the Governor for timely approval and release of dues of the Players to enable them tackle their opponents at this stage of the tournament, with full commitment and enthusiasm with a view to bringing the trophy to Gombe State.
It could be recalled that the Gombe United Football Club won the matches played in Kogi, Sokoto, and Kaduna, to qualify for quarter finals coming up in Jos, Plateau State.
The National Challenge Cup now known as AICEO because of the sponsors of the matches shall future 8 teams in the quarter finals, where Gombe United shall take on Nasarawa United.

Gombe Governor Presents 11 Utility Vehicles to Local Government Chairmen
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya earlier today, presented brand new GAC Sedan ( Saloon) utility vehicles to the eleven Local Government Councils Chairmen in the State.
While performing the ceremony at the Government House, Gombe, Governor Inuwa Yahaya said the decision to procure the vehicles was necessary to enable the local government helmsmen function in their official duties.
The Governor charged them to make judicious use of the cars, adding that with the vehicles, they will be able to reach all areas under their supervision and operate more efficiently.
Governor Yahaya restated his administration’s commitment to support local governments in the state to serve the people better, especially those at the grassroots.
“I am highly happy and very impressed with the quality of these brand new vehicles meant for use as utility vehicles by our local government Chairmen. Over time since we came in, we realized that the Chairmen were finding it very difficult in terms of mobility and we were equally finding it difficult to coordinate the operation of the local governments because of the challenges they have with regards to transportation”.
“It is in this regards that the ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs requested and obtained approval for the provision of the utility vehicles for the Chairmen and this is why this vehicles have been procured for them, So I congratulate you on this”.
“Let me remind all the people that we started with buying utility vehicles for the primary health care development agency. So all heads of primary health care in the local government were given 4×4 pickups so that they will coordinate their jobs and do the proper things and that’s already yielding results.
“As at today all our wards, a hundred and fourteen of them, have at least one functional primary health care center spread across the state that is being coordinated and management; so I should expect the Chairmen too to do same so that we have a very functional and well coordinated service delivery that will help the state to move forward”.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo, who presented the vehicles to the Governor for his inspection and onward presentation to the beneficiaries, attested to the quality and durability of the vehicles.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Chairman of Gombe Local Government Council, Alhaji Aliyu Usman Haruna who is also the Chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Gombe State, appreciated the Governor for the gesture and promised to use them for the purpose they were meant for.

Gombe APC agrees on Consensus for party Unity
Ahead of the National Congresses of All Progressive Congress APC, the leadership of the party in Gombe State, has agreed on the consensus process for the unity of the party at all levels.
Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, made this known during the APC stakeholders meeting held at Government House Gombe.
The governor explained that, the leadership of the party at the state level has agreed to go for consensus to allow the current party executives to return unopposed for the benefit of all.
Governor Yahaya noted that, the position of the party would enable the the present executives to carry everyone alone in the affairs of the party.
Speaking at the occasion Senator representing Gombe Central Senatorial district, Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje, also supported the position of the for agreeing on the affirmation, suggesting that, would strengthen the unity of the party against the 2023, general election.
Gombe Central, stakeholders urge Goje not to quit politics
People from Gombe Central Senatorial District and other political stakeholders in Gombe State have appealed to Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje not to go ahead with his resolve to retire from active elective politics.
The calls came from various political stakeholders across all eleven local government areas of the state during the unveiling Goje Legacy Project in Kumo, Akko LGA, all of who called on Senator Goje, former Governor of the state to reconsider his decision.
The speakers said they decided to host the event in order to collectively voice out their support for the senator, because of the exceptional leadership qualities he possessed in touching the lives of people beyond his senatorial district.
It will be recalled that the Senator representing Gombe Central Senatorial District had in December 2019, decided to bow out of active elective politics, meaning that he would not vie for any elective office in 2023.
Senator Goje said his decision to retire from active politics was borne out of the fact that he had achieved a lot from political life and decided to make way for others to equally contest.
Speaker-after-speaker at the programme in Kumo Akko Local Government Area of the state, all tried in their own words to persuade Senator Goje to renege from actualising his resolve to leave active elective politics.
For the immediate past Senator of Gombe South Senatorial District, Senator Joshua Lidani, who served as the Special Guest at the occasion, all three senatorial districts in Gombe State could testify of Senator Goje’s services reaching them and touching their lives positively.
For one, he said Senator Goje was elected by North East Senators to serve as the Chairman of their Forum during the 7th or 8th Senate, because of his leadership style, which subsequently led to the bill establishing the North East Development Commission.
“Today, we have the North East Development Commission, which carrying out various development projects across the North East, including Gombe State. Most of you know that the federal Polytechnic Kaltungo has already taken off. The bill for its establishment was introduced by me, but I had to seek for Senator Goje support, which came in strong during the Second Reading. Today the Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo is a reality,” said Senator Lidani.
While appreciating the various efforts and interventions of Senator Goje, Senator Lidani pleaded with him to consider the appeal by the people and continue the good works he has been doing for the overall benefit of Gombe and Nigeria as a whole.
Similarly, the Member Representing Yamaltu Deba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Yunusa Abubakar, pledged that because of the excellent works carried out by Senator Goje, they would carry out all campaigns for him and ensure that he answers their call and comes back to serve the people of Gombe State the same way he is doing now.
From Gombe North Senatorial District, Hajia Aishatu Jibrin Dukku, the member Representing Dukku/Nafada Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, while pleading with Senator Goje to remain in active political service said there was no one like him, more so because of some of them who were following his footsteps and would want to learn more from him.
“So, Senator Muhammadu Danjuma Goje, continue. 2023, we will come from all over Gombe State to make sure that In-Sha-Allah, Senator Goje wins the election in Gombe Central. Let me say that he is one person that is so humane. He listens to his people, he supports his people and he stands for his people. And that is the type of leadership we want.,” Hajia Aishatu said
Other speakers, including the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Mr. Abubakar Luggerewo and the Chairman of Akko Local Government Area, Alhaji Abubakar Barambu, who equally joined their voices to those calling on Senator Goje to renege his decision to retire from active elective political office, all said he should know that his works have touched many lives than he could imagine, thereby urging him to continue.
There were various displays of banners, shirts, attires and songs all calling on the senator not to go, with youths chanting Oyoyo to him.

2023 Politics: Gombe stakeholders turn down Goje’s retirement
Front line stakeholders in Gombe State including lawmakers, traditional rulers, religious leaders and top politicians have turned down the decision of Senator Mohammad Danjuma Goje (APC, Gombe Central) not to contest for elective position in 2023.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator represents Gombe Central in the Senate.
Goje who is a third termer at the Senate had in December 2019 announced his decision not to contest for any elective position again.
A motion to compel Goje to contest future elective positions was moved and seconded by the stakeholders during the unveiling of Goje’s legacy of service as a former minister, governor and senator in Kumo, Akko LGA of the state, at the event.
The stakeholders who took turns to speak, amidst thousands of politicians from across the 11 LGAs of the state, threatened to take legal action if Goje refused to heed their calls to stand for future elective positions.
A former Deputy Governor of the state, Senator Joshua Lidani, in his submission, said Senator Goje’s interventions cut across Gombe and the entire North East geopolitical zone.
Goje, he said, played critical role in the establishment of the North East Development Commission.
Lidani urged Senator Goje to heed to the calls of the people of the senatorial district.
Chairman of Akko LGA, Alhaji Abubakar Barambu, on his part said the entire people of Gombe Central Senatorial District have rejected Senator Goje’s retirement from active politics.
“He said, our people in the grassroots have mandated me to announce their endorsement of Senator Goje to continue to represent them in Gombe Central in 2023. If he is tired, we are not tired of his representation,”
A member of the House of Representatives, Aishatu Jibril Dukku (APC, Dukku/ Nafada), who also spoke at the event said Senator Goje has contributed immensely to the development of Gombe State, North-East and the country at large.
Dukku, a former Minister of State for Education, urged Goje not to quit active politics come 2023.
